Spaces In-Between is all about the lesser-known stories that exist within the big ones; the little anecdotes and personal perspectives on the unexpected places we find style and influence.
It focuses on the worlds around size? — the products, industry, and subcultures that are all connected in different ways — and explores the spaces in-between and around them.
Our bold new magazine and website offer a fresh and colourful constellation of pop-culture content, and for the audiophiles, culture clash aficionado Don Letts is hosting ‘Join the Dots’, our regular podcast speaking to people who are creating culture on the ground.
Our journey begins with stories of South London rising artist ‘Cosima’ and hip-hop heavyweight Talib Kweli, the youth pushing fashion from the block parties of Portland, Jamaica, the local pride of whippet racers in the North East of England, and the European football fixtures in the 1970’s that led to the boom in British streetwear. Our stories feature cutting edge videos, photography and illustrations from leading industry creatives, such as photographers Leonn Ward, Ben Benoliel, Benedict Redgrove, Kate Copeland and Adam Cruftand and Director Dan Emmerson.
Upcoming stories are themed around California’s cultural impact on the wider world – with contributions from skate culture doyen CR Stecyck, as well as California based artist/photographers Ed Templeton and Clint Woodside. UK urban insiders Tim And Barry document the post-grime movement happening in British music right now – and a series of specially commissioned illustrations evoke half a century of NBA style.
Spaces In-Between 100 page premium magazine is available now in all size? stores across the UK.
